Top-Level Domains
(TLD) are the letters that appear at the end of an Internet address which appears after the last "dot" (".")
Such as "com
" in "www.unifiedroot.com
".
Second-Level Domains
(SLD) are the part of an Internet address which appears to the left of the last "dot" (".")
Such as "unifiedroot
" in "www.unifiedroot
.com"
A domain name is the address of a site or document on the Internet.
Example: http://www.unifiedroot.com
In this example the various parts are:
- a second-level domain (SLD) ;
- a "dot" "."
- and a top-level domain (TLD)
SLDs at Unifiedroot are held, offered, and managed by the TLD and IDN holders. The TLD and IDN holders are entrusted with setting policy to insure the integrity and interest of their community.
No, we do not provide a list of TLDs and IDNs registered at Unifiedroot. To see if a TLD or IDN is available please consult our "Availability Check " page.
Any corporation, organization or institution can apply for a TLD at Unifiedroot.
The first step in applying for a TLD at Unifiedroot is to check to see if the TLD name is available. Before completing our Online application form we highly recommend one reads the Technology section and the TLD/IDN Application pages on this website.
Once an application is accepted and full registration payment is made to Unifiedroot, the owner can immediately start using its TLD.
Unifiedroot does not limit the number of TLDs a company, organization or institution can register.
Where do I find To view TLDs registered at Unifiedroot users must first be able to query our root servers. Unifiedroot has ingeniously solved this problem. From the original source code of Mozilla's Firefox browser we have developed our own browser we call "Sundial ". The Sundial browser recognizes all the TLDs we are familiar with now from ICANN as well as all the TLDs on the Unifiedroot root servers
There is no direct link to the TLD application form. The first step in our application process is to perform a search at our "Availability Check " page to see if the TLD you are looking for is available.
If the TLD you are looking for is available you will see an orange button with the text "Click here to apply for (your TLD)". This link will take you to the application form. We strongly recommended that you first read through all sections of the website before starting the application process.
