I heard it through the grapevine that 'maddog' is now a founding member of the UnifiedRoot advisory board. That's cool! I only met him briefly at LinuxWorld last year, but he impressed me on a personal level. Mostly, I listened to he and Doc talk about stuff. Jon's involved in the background of a lot of things, and is probably best known for being the Executive Director of Linux International.

Amsterdam-based company Unified Root announced last week that is has created a simplified internet addressing system which allows the registration of more logical, memorable domain names. Unified Root's system dispenses with the usual suffixes (i.e. .com, .net, .org, etc.) in favor of complete words, for example '.company' or '.airport'
